My Week 28 Team - Update

As much as I wanted the Tottenham set-piece taker in my team, I just couldn't work out if Bentley or Kranjcar will start so in the end stayed away from both. So in comes S Gerrard in place of Bentley.

I like the idea of taking a gamble on Fox who was a consistent points scorer before his injury. Fox is back fit and I am assuming will re-take his place in Burnley's S11. Certainly Burnley's form han't been great whilst Fox was out so don't see why Fox wouldn't reclaim a starting slot. So out goes Maxi, formation changed from 343 to 433 to make room for Fox.

Finally the upgrades of Gerrard & Fox meant I had to downgrade either Jags -> Agger or Crouch -> Eidur. It's a 50/50 cal but in the end decided to go with Agger as

1) Wolves are in good form so I don't think the Toffess will keep a CS.
2) I have a hunch about Crouch up against his former employers.

So my final Week 28 Team;

Myhill
Agger     Bale     Ferreira     Fox
Malouda    Arteta     Gerrard
Roo     Bendtner     Crouch

Barn Door Options for week 29:

2 fixtures standout for me in week 29, Arsenal at home to Wolves and Everton vs West Ham. So I will take Jags on BD and will monitor the likes of Howard, Campbell, Cahill, Fabs, Arshavin and Anichebe. Look out for posts on chatroll as I will post my BD moves in real time.

So what are your thoughts for week 28? How does your team compare to mine?

Thanks
SK

  1. Similar to you SK:

    Myhill
    Bale, Hutton, Verm (season-keeper)
Malouda, Arteta, Stevie G, A Johnson
    Roon, Crouch, Tevez

Dropped Drogs as he has two tough games, but he is on form so who knows.

    Good luck!

    Phil

  2. Hey SK, great posts. Especially the last one with that sign off, great spirit! Great how you take criticism constructively. For this week, I just couldn't go for Gerrard, just too inconsistent this year - but this week could be a turning point, especially as the World Cup draws closer - needs to find some form.

Given, Mouyokolo @1.76, Jagielka, Bale @11, Malouda, Arteta, Modric, Bullard, Bendtner, Tevez, Crouch

HV B'd Fab, Verm @9.11 and Etherington (who I believe is a must have). Will monitor Adebayor this weekend.

Really liking Man City, Everton and Arsenal next week. Glad the Spurs dilemma is over, as confusing as choosing an F1 driver to support this year. Will be at Albert Park tomorrow. Have a good weekend!

  3. Good decision to sell Drogs Phil but we both have Roo. WTF happened to Roo? SAF said he was fit & raring to go!

Great Team VS. I really envy Mouyokolo @ 1.7, he is a shot blocking machine + CS pts so he is really paying off for you - congratulations!

I am a F1 fanatic! Big Mclaren fan.

Good luck gents with week 28.

  4. My team: (4-3-3)
    Jensen
    Jagielka, Richards, Bassong, Bale
    Modric, Malouda, Arteta
    Drogba, Kalinic, Crouch

Yes, I now know Drogba and Arteta aren't playing (grrr...)! Further infuriating is the fact that I was looking at Myhill/Lampard + a cheap Pompey midfielder, but in the end settled for Jensen/Modric + Kalinic.

I have got 82 points so far, as of Saturday

  6. Anichebe was something different but wont be taking him with Saha and Yak back and in any case Physio Room is reporting him injured.

  7. Hey Scout,

107 points with Tevez and Given to go. Pretty pleased overall, just sad Arteta didn't start - was his birthday on 26th March, will let him off because of that. He did tweet he was sore few days earlier, disappointed didn't read much into it. Nevertheless, I guess Mouyokolo made up with 15 points! Unbelievable.

I reckon gotta be careful with the Arsenal picks as Wenger may rotate some players given match vs Wolves in between giant clashes with Barca. Could see some names rested, and Wolves are no pushovers now too.

Saha or Adebayor to join Tevez and Bendtner in front line. Etherington vs Bullard for final midfield spot, Bullard on discount and has great Week 30 fixture vs Burnley, prob keep Jummy. Do you think Fab4, Verm and Nasri under rotation risk coz of Barca matches? Clueless regd GK.

(Must be pleased with Button winning! Being an avid Fisichella fan, I'm searching for a new driver to support now, great race btw)

  8. Great week VS! My form has been very disappointing of late which does happen in FF but hope it picks up as Ive been in/around the top 250 for most of season but now in risk of falling outside top 500.

Ive BD Torres as he has a very good run of fixtures. Ive taken James as GK. I know its a huge risk but @ 1, it frees up funds.

Really happy about Button but could/should have been Mclaren 1-2. it must have been amazing to be there in person.

  9. BTW Fisi was a great driver in his day. If I remeber correctly he won the Aussie GP in his Renault days which was a fantastic drive. You can always join the Mclaren club if you want a team/driver to follow loooooool!

  10. Finished with 160 points for the week 28. Sitting on spare funds of 12.53! Currently with forwards of Tevez-Bendtner-Saha. Will monitor Arsenal, namely Fabregas esp against Barca to finalize team for Week 29.

Deciding between Torres and Saha too, not 100% convinced by either given Torres fixture and Saha's form. Will Nasri start this weekend?

Its a pity Yahoo didn't have Fantasy F1 this year. Would be quite fun. I like Button because his girlfriend is pretty hot (and he seems like a nice guy too). But something's calling me towards Schumacher... And despite coming from Australia, I don't quite fancy Webber but its a love-hate r'ship. Fantastic 2010 season ahead!

Cheers! Enjoy the Champions League matches everyone
